Moonlight Sword Style Empty
PostSubject: Moonlight Sword Style   Moonlight Sword Style EmptyMon Jan 27, 2014 1:23 pm

Martial Art Name: Moonlight Sword Style/Swordless Style
Other Names: --
Description: This is a style in which the practitioners are taught one at a time, and is kept within the family for the most part. The fine art of the Moonlight Sword Style focuses greatly on developing both the user's skill as a swordsman, as well as their skill as a sword themselves. Because of the insanely harsh and rigorous training schedule they keep, the practitioners are nigh hypnotized into becoming samurai.

Their greatest achievement is developing methods slashing in which even a wooden sword could be used to cleave through metal defenses. Because of this, the practitioners of this style are quite good at cutting, and granted a real sword, they could potentially dole out a huge sum of damage. However, they usually work with wooden blades, strange as it may be, which means that their weapons get broken a lot. Thusly they have also developed unarmed attack that make them as dangerous as a sword themselves, manipulating wind to their advantage for dangerous attacks.

Specialties:
  • Slashing
  • Trick Slashes
  • Wind Manipulation

Sub-Specialties:
  • Chops
  • Punches
  • Grapples

History: The Moonlight Sword Style was developed in Modern South Korea as a means of fighting against North Korean forces by a single swordsmaster. This man went on to slay countless foes using a vast number of sword dances. Upon retiring from the military, this man would vow to never use a real sword for his art again, the blood of a couple thousand men on his hands. However, he did not give up the art.

He would teach this art to his child, who would take to it quite well. This child obsessed over good genealogy, and from that point on, it became a tradition for the users of this style to look for good genes for their style over love. After twenty five generations, a mere five masters still exist in the world; given twins every few generations, both were taught and passed on the style. Throughout these generations, the combat-driven family of the Moonlight Sword Style would become swords themselves, after countless times of losing their swords in combat and having to fend for themselves. This extra bit has made the Moonlight Sword Style one of the most feared in the world.
